James Thomas Lee, age 82 of North Sea, was found on Tuesday, Jan. 30, a week after Southampton Town Police had announced his disappearance.

At around noon on that day, a North Sea homeowner reported finding a body behind a private house in the area.

Authorities identified Lee and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lee, who had Alzheimer’s and was believed to need medical attention, had last been seen on North Sea Road on Jan. 25.

“Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. Lee’s family, friends, and loved ones,” Southampton Town Police wrote in a statement.

Though criminality is not suspected in the man’s death at this time, police are still investigating the incident.
